World Sickle Cell Observance Day

The Association of Sickle Cell Lower Chattahoochee Region will host its annual “World Sickle Cell” Day on Friday, June 19, 2017. This annual event honors the 2008 United Nations, General Assembly resolution and adoption of the World Sickle Cell Awareness Day; which recognizes Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) as a public health concern. Sickle Cell Disease is a serious condition due to the severity of health complications that are life threatening and debilitating. World Sickle Cell Awareness Day provides an opportunity to increase understanding of SCD and how it affects individuals and families worldwide. For more information, click here
